NEW BEDFORD, MA - The New Bedford Police Major Crimes Detectives received a report of a male who was suspected of stealing anywhere from $30,000 to almost $100,000 worth of tools and equipment from his employer in the New Bedford Industrial Park. Detectives then speedily investigated the claim and made an arrest, recovering several thousands of dollars in stolen property. Due to the technical nature of the tools, some of the seemingly worthless equipment to the untrained observer was actually valued at $9,000 per unit. Preliminary investigation reveals that some of this equipment may have been sold on eBay. Manufacturer and company representatives are expected to identify the remainder of the property on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, and a Press Conference is likely to be scheduled for that afternoon Write Comment |
