NEW BEDFORD, MA - Sustainable Southcoast is a small but growing organization that is working to find was to help the community in ways that are green based and have social value. Recently, the group held Garden Night in Wing's Court located in downtown New Bedford and offered to the public raised bed garden boxes, compost, vegetable plats and the opportunity to watch a movie and BBQ. The turnout was 4 times what was expected and people were more interested in helping to transform Wing's court into a more vibrant public space than watching a movie. Quite simply, community happened and all loved it.
