Candidate for Sentate Jeff Beatty BEATTY DEMANDS KERRY PRODUCE HIS 1999 LETTER TO FANNIE MAE AND FREDDIE MAC TO OPEN THE SUB-PRIME MORTGAGE MARKET
BOSTON-Today, Jeff Beatty demands that John Kerry produce the 1999 letter he wrote as a member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee urging Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to move aggressively into the sub-prime market.

Additionally, Beatty demands all the records of Kerry's involvement in this matter. Taxpayers are now footing the bill for a trillion dollar bailout of the financial industry - a move that is said to be the cause of the current financial meltdown.
Kerry has received $19 million dollars in campaign cash from the finance industry, including 111,000 from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Kerry has also accepted more than $44,000 from AIG and $151,664 dollars from the now bankrupt Lehman Brothers.
"John Kerry makes claims about what he's done to prevent this financial mess, but hasn't produced the evidence to back it up. Kerry always covers himself in speeches and on paper, but the real story is about what he actually did.
I demand that John Kerry produce all the records and correspondence on this matter, including his 1999 letter and allow the voters of Massachusetts to understand how we got to this critical juncture, and what he failed to do through the years to prevent this mess. If he actually made any reforms, show us. These letters were written on the peoples' time, on the peoples' dollar and on the peoples' paper. Produce them now.
Mr. Kerry, we now know what you did for Fannie Mae and AIG. Show us what you actually did for us."Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. Powered by AkoComment! |
