Nutbags shooting pedestrians with pellet gun Print E-mail

NEW BEDFORD, MA - On Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at approximately 3:30 am a call was received in our communication center in regards to a female that had just been shot in the head with a pellet gun in the area of Rivet & Crapo Sts. Preliminary investigation revealed that a lone female was walking east on Rivet St. when two males approached her in a silver pickup truck.  As she was approaching the driver side of the truck she heard a popping sound.  She then realized that she had been shot in the forehead with a pellet.  The vehicle fled south on Crapo St.  She could only describe the male driver and passenger as being white.

The female was transported to St Luke’s Hospital for treatment of none life-threatening injury.

Second similar incident

On Saturday, April 14, 2007 at approximately 3:45 am a call was received in our communication center in regards to a male that was shot with a pellet gun in the area of Woodlawn St. & Rodney French Blvd.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a lone male was walking at above intersection, when a white Toyota Camry pulled up along side of him.  The passenger then shot him twice once in the chest and once in the leg with a pellet gun. The vehicle fled north on Rte. 18.  The operator was described as a white male wearing a black hoodie.  The shooter was described as a white male wearing a red hoodie.
