Male stabbed several times |

NEW BEDFORD, MA - On Saturday, May 5, 2007 at approximately 12:15am a 911 call was received in our communication center in regards to a large fight in the area of 31 Ashley St. As the units were responding information was being received that several individuals had been stabbed.
When the units arrived they found a male victim in front of 18 Ashley St. that had been stabbed several times. The victim later identified as (WILLIAM LOMAS age 29 of New Bedford) he had been stabbed in the neck, chest and back. The victim was unable to give a description of his assailant at this time.
Lomas was then transported to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment but due to the severity of his injuries he was Med-Flighted to a Boston Hospital.
The suspect was described as a light skin male in his teens, 5' 8", 130lbs black bandanna, dark shirt, long blue shorts and black sneakers. He was last seen in the area of 11 Ashley St.
Information was received that a second male was stabbed but had left the area prior to the police arriving. His injuries were reported as only minor.
